Michael was born and raised in Ohio, later attending Allegheny College in Meadville PA where he received a degree in Environmental Studies with a Photography focus. After finishing college Michael moved to Missoula in 2004 and three days later began working at the Darkroom. In addition to managing the store Michael Teaches and assists at The Rocky Mountain School of Photography, works for Snowbowl Ski Patrol as well as doing freelance photography. His free time is spent skiing, biking, kayaking, rock climbing, scuba diving and hanging out with Lucy, his Fox Red Labrador retriever.

Sarah grew up in Havre, Montana. She moved to Missoula in the summer of 2007 and began working at the Dark Room. After working in the lab and on the sales floor for about a year Sarah decided to go back to school at the University of Montana. With an interest in commercial photography and a love of personal photography Sarah has worked in different areas of the subject for ten years. She now attends classes full-time and works part-time for the Dark Room.
